Eight years after Book 1. Nate Calloway is forty. The standard holds, the trust holds, the weight got carried, and the leaders Danny developed are developing leaders of their own. By every measure he started with, he has won.

Which is why nothing makes sense.

Book 5 starts in mastery, not crisis. The restlessness of a man who has the answer to every question he started asking eight years ago, walking the building at six in the morning looking for what isn’t there.

I wrote the book that finally gets to why. The other four were about how to lead, how to build, how to carry, how to develop. Five books in, the question every founder eventually has to answer is the one the series has been circling all along.

Five books. One brewery. One question I couldn’t answer in straight nonfiction, so I built a town and a cast and a long oak table and let them work it out.

If you’ve followed Nate from the parking lot in Chapter 1 of The Standard to the last page of The Table, thank you for the time. The cast is fictional. The work is real.

Pour something. Sit with it.
